So lately I have been missing my favorite place on earth which also happens to be the happiest place on earth too. Yes, I’m talking about Disney World.
We go almost every year to Disney World on vacation so I decided I could share some of my knowledge in case any of you are planning on taking a trip there anytime soon!
Where to Stay
So my family has a camper which means we always stay at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. For one its cheap (like $85 a night at times). Prices change depending on the time of the year but over all its pretty cheap year round. And the second reason we stay here is that it literally has so much to do there especially if you have young kids. It also is good because it’s more of a get away than any of the there resorts. You are actually in the woods and your site is sort of secluded.
If you don’t have a camper though not to worry! There are 2 things you can do to remedy that. One is that you can rent a camper and the company will come and set it up and then take it down for you. I also believe they allow tent camping as well. But more importantly they have cabins here too. they are super cute and aren’t much more expensive than the campsites.
There is a bus system that runs throughout the whole campground so you never have to move your vehicle once you get there ( This is the same all over Disney property, the bus system is how you get from park to park and back to your resort). There are two general stores, two swimming pools, a restaurant, a dinner show, a campfire and outdoor movie a beach area, and so much more. The beach area is NOT for swimming! I repeat NOT for swimming. There are signs posted everywhere but last year some people let their child go in and he was grabbed by an alligator (Florida is the gator capital of like the United States). Anyway the beach area however does serve a purpose. Actually two purposes.
The beach offers a great viewing of the nightly firework show at the Magic Kingdom called “Wishes” and the music from the park is even piped in. Fort Wilderness is located on what is called the “Seven Seas Lagoon” which is a man-made lake. So to get to the other resorts around this “lagoon” you take a ferry and Magic Kingdom is also located here so there is another (bigger ferry) to take guests to the park.
There are tons of other resorts that are totally worth researching before you go. Even if you don’t stay at one you can still go and eat at those restaurants and sight see there. ( The best one to sight see at is the Animal Kingdom Lodge).
Which brings me to what my next post will be about: The Meal Plans! (Come back tomorrow for more on that.) 😉
