And Straight on ‘Till Morning Part 2

So sorry for the delay in posts but I got really busy with school.

**Just a heads up since I wrote part one I read up on the meal plans and they have now changed it to where you must purchase a magic your way package to get a meal plan which means staying on property is a must but that is essentially what my family has been doing for years we use to put it together ourselves**

Who doesn’t love food, right? Especially on vacation and especially at Disney World ( I mean really Mickey shaped everything!) but it’s so expensive! Not to worry have a way that will totally save you money!

Okay, so when you go on to look at these meal plans don’t panic! They are expensive but there are different levels as far as what each one offers but the initial sticker shock is a bit much but let’s do the math really quick. So my family consists of 4 people none of which are considered children anymore, so for us to get a burger, fries and a drink each (quick service which I will talk about in a minute) costs about $50 and if your doing that roughly 3 meals a day for, say, a 4 days that ends up being $600 for literally just fast food that you can get from McDonald’s at home. And on top of that, you miss out on the amazing cuisine that Disney World offers. And that doesn’t even include snacks or extra bottles of water or anything else that you might want to buy on your vacation.

I highly recommend researching the meal plans. There are different levels as I mentioned earlier. So the first is the quick service meal plan. That basically offers fast food type dining experiences. However, don’t be fooled by the term fast food because many of the fast food or quick service restaurants serve so much more than your usual burger and fries. For example the Be Our Guest Restaurant is a quick service place at lunch time. This is one of the most sought after places to get a reservation because it is so beautiful on the inside. It is a must do! (Make reservations to eat here when you make your vacation reservations.)

The second is the Disney dining plan which offers one quick service meal a day, one sit down meal (nicer restaurant) and a snack. This one is a bit more expensive but if you were to eat like this every day for again like 4 days you would spend well over $1000. This one is the one my family normally gets and it is the best deal in personal opinion.

The last meal plan is called the Deluxe Dining Plan this pretty mush offers the most high-end restaurants on Disney Property. Their restaurants are the ones you have to dress up to go into. If your family likes that kind of thing then this would be perfect but when I am on vacation I don’t really want to dress up and all from being in the park all day. None the less there are some amazing restaurants that you have access to with this dining plan.

It is very important to research which one would be most beneficial for your family. I do 100% recommend it if you’re going to be there for a longer vacation.

*** Also just a heads up: Disney now has Starbucks in every park and even some the resorts and everything in there is considered a snack on the Disney Dining Plan. And if your want a cake pop make sure you ask for the snack because you actually get three because of the price! Your welcome! 😉

That being said there are so many ways to enjoy Disney World so I am going to give you a few of my personal MUST DO attractions.

Food: Be Our Guest Restaurant (lunch or dinner), Trails End Restaurant, Boma- Flavors of Africa, The Garden Grill (Character Dining), Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen, The Roaring Fork, SiFi Dine-in Theater, Sprinkles (Has Gluten Free cupcakes), Sunshine Seasons, The Coral Reef Restaurant, and Teppan Edo (* Disney offers gluten free and other dietary restricted items in almost every restaurant on property)

Attractions: Hoop Dee Doo Review, Ohana, Movie nights at the Resorts, Wishes, Main Street Electrical Parade, Magic and the Memories ( they animate the castle very, very cool.), Illuminations, The new night time show on the tree of life similar to Magic and the Memories.

Ride: Sorin’, Test Track, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road, Dinosaur( I have never actually seen this whole ride my eye close about half way through, but I am kind of a wimp), Rockin’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith, Expedition Everest ( literally my favorite ride here), The Jungle Cruise, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (really long line, really short ride but fun), Star Tours, Toy Story Mania, and Space Mountain just to name a few.

My Favorite Parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Spring, and Typhoon Lagoon.

If you have long kids or just wanna be kids again this is the place to go and have fun. It’s like a real life Neverland. You don’t have to be grown up here and that to me is the best vacation. It’s the second highway exit to the right instead of the second star to the right… but basically the same. 😉

** Last thing: To me it makes it more fun to know the history behind Disney World and Walt Disney so if your interested in that try reading the book “Walt Disney: An American Original” ( they Disney Family hired Bob Thomas a personal friend of Walt’s to write his biography) and if you want a little extra magic at the parks check out the Latest Version of the book ” Hidden Mickey: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secrets” by Steven Barrett. And take advantage of meeting Characters too! its fun no matter what age!

And Straight On ’till Morning (Part One)

So lately I have been missing my favorite place on earth which also happens to be the happiest place on earth too. Yes, I’m talking about Disney World.

We go almost every year to Disney World on vacation so I decided I could share some of my knowledge in case any of you are planning on taking a trip there anytime soon!

Where to Stay

So my family has a camper which means we always stay at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. For one its cheap (like $85 a night at times). Prices change depending on the time of the year but over all its pretty cheap year round. And the second reason  we stay here is that it literally has so much to do there especially if you have young kids. It also is good because it’s more of a get away than any of the there resorts. You are actually in the woods and your site is sort of secluded.

If you don’t have a camper though not to worry! There are 2 things you can do to remedy that. One is that you can rent a camper and the company will come and set it up and then take it down for you. I also believe they allow tent camping as well. But more importantly they have cabins here too. they are super cute and aren’t much more expensive than the campsites.

There is a bus system that runs throughout the whole campground so you never have to move your vehicle once you get there ( This is the same all over Disney property, the bus system is how you get from park to park and back to your resort). There are two general stores, two swimming pools, a restaurant, a dinner show, a campfire and outdoor movie a beach area, and so much more. The beach area is NOT for swimming! I repeat NOT for swimming. There are signs posted everywhere but last year some people let their child go in and he was grabbed by an alligator (Florida is the gator capital of like the United States). Anyway the beach area however does serve a purpose. Actually two purposes.

The beach offers a great viewing of the nightly firework show at the Magic Kingdom called “Wishes” and the music from the park is even piped in. Fort Wilderness is located on what is called the “Seven Seas Lagoon” which is a man-made lake. So to get to the other resorts around this “lagoon” you take a ferry and Magic Kingdom is also located here so there is another (bigger ferry) to take guests to the park.

There are tons of other resorts that are totally worth researching before you go. Even if you don’t stay at one you can still go and eat at those restaurants and sight see there. ( The best one to sight see at is the Animal Kingdom Lodge).

Which brings me to what my next post will be about: The Meal Plans! (Come back tomorrow for more on that.) 😉

Welcome To My Blog

I’ll begin by explaining my title incase some of you don’t really understand it right away. It’s the name of the lipstick Lorelai Gilmore uses. Yes, that sounds crazy I know but I thought it was clever and anyway the name might not even stick. 😉 I have a slight obsession with Gilmore Girls (currently) as well as all things Disney (always). Actually I have quite a few obsessions, okay obsession is not a great word but maybe a great fondness would be a better way to put it.Ill give y’all some brief rambling facts about myself to give y’all some idea of who I am. I love books. I love Netflix (who doesn’t?). Through College I have discovered coffee is a good friend that will never let me down. I am living proof that shopping can be very therapeutic when done right. I believe in love at first sight and that if things are meant to be they will happen. I have had an amazing boyfriend for 4 years and counting. He and I have a dog named Chapman, he’s a mutt but looks like what in the south is known as an expensive bird dog. He’s really sweet and very goofy but smarter than he looks. He is one year old and quite possibly my best friend. Also yes, I am a crazy dog mom and he does have his very own Instagram (@chapman_brown) incase  y’all want to follow him. He likes to take pictures (see below) so it was only natural he should be on social media.img_2924

I decided to start this blog mainly because I have always wanted to but was never really sure what to write about. I don’t live a lavishly glamorous life or anything like that. However, at times, I do think my life is interesting and at least one person might get a chuckle out of something I have to say. In general I am socially awkward; not so much that I cant function but enough to where I can make situations uncomfortable (LOL). Its fine though I have learned to roll with it and sometimes it makes for a good story. I sat down one day getting my nails done with a friend and we had a conversation about the stories from our hometown (it has one red light in the whole town, just to give some perspective). Those alone would be enough to write a fairly unbelievable novel, could be a hit like Lucas’novel in One Tree Hill ( yes, another Netflix Obsession). So I decided at least if I run out of cute clothes and outfits to post I will at least have a good story sans real names of course. Honestly, if I sit and think about it long enough my whole life has just been one unbelievably complicated story, but then again, isn’t everyone’s?

I have had an interesting past even though I am pretty young. Middle School was a horrible time. Even more than what is normal for most kids. I was bullied and it has caused problems even now in my adult life but I am working to change that. Its one of the things that I dint like about myself that I have the power to control. The girl that caused the majority of this pain now goes to UGA I think. She lives her life and I live mine and our paths have not crossed again. However, I have forgiven her, not for her benefit but for mine. Now I can move on from it and tell my story so that maybe some one out there going through something similar might read this and realize it will be okay even when it doesn’t feel like it. Becoming a member of Alpha Omicron Pi has greatly boosted my confidence and I have become more open and willing to venture out of my comfort zone. I know that some people view Sororities as something negative and only a way to buy friends. Maybe for some girls its also just a party outlet but its not to me. It means mush more and it also means that I am held to higher standard because I am associated with those letters for life, and that makes me proud. As a result of my life so far I understand now that people will always let you down because they are human but those that really matter will stick around or at the very least come back into your life. I’ll share my whole story at some point but its sad and serious and I’m not feelin’ it right now. I am thankful now for the things that hurt me because it has made me stronger and I am thankful for the people in my life that know what I have been through and still love me. I want to be relatable to my readers not just in the way I dress or how I do my make up but in how I live my life. This whole blog thing is very new to me so bare with me until I get the swing of it. I don’t have a schedule of when I will post but it will be frequent but sporadic and hopefully entertaining.

I hope you enjoy and please comment, share your opinions and stories! This is going to be fun! Happy New Year!
